Bob founded the firm of Welts, White & Fontaine in 1978 and celebrated 50 years of law practice in July of 2007. He retired in 2021 after 64 years of practice and passed away in 2022. Bob focused his practice in the areas of probate, estate planning, real estate and land use law.
Bob was past President of the Nashua Bar Association and was awarded its highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, in 2009. Bob was also former Chairman of the Nashua Zoning Board of Adjustment and a former member of the Nashua Board of Aldermen.
Bob earned his B.S. degree, cum laude and J.D. from Boston College. He also earned an LLM in taxation on Boston University.
Bob, an avid runner, was a longtime member of Gate City Striders. He continued running road races into his late eighties, including several events at the National Senior Games in both road racing and track and field divisions.
